Your Opportunity

We are seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team on the afternoon shift.

This is a hands-on role focused on keeping our manufacturing assets running safely and efficiently, supporting production performance, product quality and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in responding to breakdowns, executing preventative maintenance and ensuring equipment reliability across a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Vitaco operates across multiple manufacturing sites in Auckland — with three buildings in East Tamaki and one in Penrose. This role is currently based in Penrose, working closely with Production, Maintenance and Reliability teams to maintain high standards of safety, quality and operational performance across the site.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns, diagnose faults and restore equipment to minimise production downtime
• Plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance aligned to production priorities
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance asset reliability and efficiency
• Collaborate with production teams, engineers and contractors to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work complies with GMP, safety and quality standards

This is a full-time role (42 hours per week) based across Vitaco’s manufacturing sites in East Tamaki  and Penrose . The role includes a rotational requirement to work one Saturday every four weeks. The salary range for this position is $90,000–$110,000 per year(depending on experience) plus a shift allowance. 

About You

You are a practical, reliable and safety-focused engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes ownership of equipment performance.

You will bring:

• Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience with preventative maintenance and breakdown response
• Exposure to pneumatics, hydraulics and industrial equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset

Experience working in GMP or regulated environments and using CMMS systems will be highly regarded.
