Payroll Officer (Fixed-term)


Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll professional to join our team on a six-month full-time contract. This role will provide critical support to our Payroll team as we transition to a new payroll system.

In this role, you'll be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 560 employees across New Zealand and Australia. Ideally, you'll bring previous payroll experience in both countries, along with excellent data entry skills and strong proficiency in Excel.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring smooth payroll operations while contributing to a significant business transformation.

What you own and deliver:

  • Managing and processing weekly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Maintaining and updating employee payroll records and changes
  • Responding to and resolving payroll-related queries
  • Ensuring the IRD and ATO payroll tax filing obligations are met
  • Supporting with ad hoc payroll tasks as needed
  • Contributing to project-related work, including system transition support

About You:

  • 2–3 years of payroll experience within a medium to large organisation, with solid knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel for payroll-related tasks
  • Strong organisational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • A proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MYOB Exo payroll systems is a strong advantage
