Reliability Engineer


 

The role:

Reporting to our Engineering Manager, we are looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a newly created opportunity for a professional looking to make a significant impact on our operations, focusing on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our assets, maintenance systems and processes. In this role you’ll be responsible for optimising asset performance, developing maintenance strategies, and riving improvement initiatives in our production processes.  

The hours for this position are 42 hours per week, from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. The salary for this role ranges between $120,000 to $145,000 depending on experience. This role is based in East Tamaki. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reliability strategies and methodologies to improve the performance of our assets and manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct analysis on new and existing equipment to develop preventative maintenance plans and strategies
  • Drive the reliability programme including driving the RCPE process and triggers to avoid future failures.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance data, identifying trends, and proposing corrective and preventative actions to address reliability issues.
  • Support capital project initiatives by assessing equipment reliability and suggesting improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and equipment.
  • Maintain and update maintenance documentation, including key reliability metrics, KPIs, and equipment lifecycle data.
  • Communicate regular reliability data with relevant stakeholders

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly preferred but we will also consider candidates with a Trade Qualification and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a reliability engineering role – this is a must!
  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools such as FMECA, or fault free analysis
  • Experience in statistical analysis and understanding of MTBF, MTTR
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Extensive experience in the development of preventative maintenance plans
  • Excellent computer literacy including the use of CMMS
